Next Generation Recreation is a Kansas City–based recreation design, construction, and maintenance
firm specializing in complete, long-term solutions for parks, playgrounds, and outdoor spaces. With more
than 100 years of combined industry experience, our team partners with municipalities, school districts,
and community organizations to create safe, engaging, and sustainable recreation environments.

traditional manufacturer representatives, we provide in-house design, installation, maintenance,
warranty, and replacement support all under one roof. This allows us to maintain direct accountability
at every phase of a project, from initial concept through ongoing care and compliance.
Our in-house maintenance and inspection team is a key differentiator. We are one of the only
recreation representatives in the region offering custom maintenance and inspection programs
designed to protect our clients’ investments long after installation. These programs include scheduled
inspections, safety audits, repairs, surfacing maintenance, and replacement parts support—performed by
certified professionals who know each site firsthand. This proactive approach helps reduce downtime,
extend equipment life, and maintain safety and compliance year after year.
Led by Kevin D. Marshall Jr., Founder and Creative Director, Next Generation Recreation brings an
unmatched level of safety expertise to every project. Kevin is a Certified Playground Safety Inspector
(CPSI) with more than 18 years of certification, a TRIAX-certified impact testing professional, and an
international CPSI instructor who has taught playground safety standards in the United States and abroad.
This deep technical knowledge is embedded throughout the company’s design, installation, and
maintenance practices.

as well as Sourcewell and Equalis cooperative purchasing programs, allowing clients to move
